The Craft of Daydreams: Worldbuilding Off the Page

A deeply realized landscape can be so much more than setting. Laurel Snyder offers practical lessons for how to fully inhabit your invented worlds, and capture them for the reader. She will offer exercises that force you to step away from your computer, and stretch your thinking in new ways.

Laurel Snyder is the author of many books for young readers.  Recent titles include Orphan Island, which was long-listed for the National Book Award, My Jasper June, which was named one of the New York Times’ Best Children’s Books for 2019, and Charlie and Mouse, which won the Geisel medal in 2018.  Laurel is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and she currently teaches in the MFAC program at Hamline University. A Baltimore native, she now lives with her family in Atlanta.
