Book Design and Production

Join Cindy De la Cruz, book designer for Penguin Young Readers for a deep dive on the design and production side of book making! This keynote is a MUST for published and pre-published illustrators and anyone interested in book design! Cindy will explain how an art director, designer, illustrator work together on a book, and more specifically, she’ll share what goes into book design and how an illustrator can best work with a designer on this process. She’ll demonstrate important elements in illustrating covers, and you’ll see examples of how specific design choices can elevate a spread, cover, or overall book design.

Fees are non-refundable.
