Matthew Cordell is a writer and illustrator of many popular and award-winning picture books and early readers. Among his many celebrated titles are the Wish series (Wish, Dream, and Hope), Hello, Neighbor!: The Kind and Caring World of Mister Rogers, Every Dog in the Neighborhood, the 2018 Caldecott-winning, Wolf in the Snow, Bear Island, and the Cornbread and Poppy series.
Matthew has illustrated numerous books by others, including Philip C. Stead, Rebecca Kai Doltich, and Gail Carson Levine.
He lives in the Chicago area with his wife and two children. He is an avid birder and you can follow his virtually daily treks into the field on his Facebook page.
