Presenter Bio:

Janna Morishima is an illustration and literary agent specializing in graphic novels and visual storytelling. She is the founder of Kids Comics Unite, an online community for kids and YA graphic novel professionals. She was also one of the co-founders of Scholastic’s Graphix imprint. Janna will be offering a small amount of consultations. A consultation is a one-on-one, 10-minute, Zoom meeting with Literary Agent Janna Morishima. This is an opportunity to get feedback from an industry professional. SCBWI Members may sign up for ONE (1) individual consultation.

Consultations will be held on March 22 starting at 12:00pm.
Deadline to submit graphic novel manuscripts and graphic novel dummies is March 17.
Zoom link will be sent out on March 19.
Cost for SCBWI Members is $60

Registration for Consultations will open March 1, 2021 (First come, first served)

Graphic Novel Consultation Submission Guidelines

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript. If you are unsure about anything, please email us at wwa@scbwi.org.  

1.) You must register for the consultation before you submit your manuscript or images. 

 2.) All manuscripts/images must be sent to wwa@scbwi.org.

3.) Your manuscript must ARRIVE ON or BEFORE Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Manuscripts received after that day cannot be accepted.

 4.) Format ALL manuscripts in a 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font. 

 5.) ALL submissions must include a title page with your contact information and the type of manuscript (PB,YA,MG) in the upper left-hand corner.

 6.) The name on your manuscript MUST match the name you registered under for the consult, even if you write under a pseudonym.

 7.) Submit up to FIVE (5) pages or FIVE Images or a combination of both equaling FIVE.
